Reengineering “Good” City Government
City Hall must be focused on Performance & Customer Service Excellence. As Mayor, I will implement performance management requirements for every job, streamline government to make it more efficient, and implement a Strategic Portfolio Management approach to city budgeting to allocate funding based on priorities, service levels, and impact. I will also stop City Hall from treating the citizens like an ATM machine. I will work to eliminate some nuisance taxes and fees and refocus others, such as focusing traffic cameras and their fines to TRUE public safety rather than being just a pure revenue stream. I will create more direct and friendlier accessibility to City Government. I want the S&WB to automate meter readings. Rather than deploying teams of employees to read the meters, let’s reassign these valuable workers to more productive roles and let technology work for us.
