Healing the Racial Divide
Underlying all other issues including Public Safety, Economic Growth, and how we allocate resources in the City Budget is the issue of Race. After the monuments removal exposed a deep racial divide, we can no longer lie to ourselves and pretend that this issue does not exist. It is time for our city to deal with matters of Race directly, honestly, and forcefully. In 2018, New Orleans will celebrate its 300th anniversary. As Mayor, I will begin a citywide dialogue to confront the issue of Race once and for all to ensure that our city can survive and grow over the next 300 years for our children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and beyond, working together in partnership as One Community!
